HUD announced the funding for FY2015 CoC Program Competition Tier 1, CoC Planning and UFA costs. The Tier 1 funding announcement includes Renewal, New, Continuum of Care (CoC) Planning, and Unified Funding Agency (UFA) Costs, support the Obama Administration’s efforts to end homelessness by providing critically needed housing and support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Housing First, Inc. has been funded at the requested level for all Tier 1 projects and CoC Planning costs, with increases/decreases in Leasing for the 2016 FMRs. This includes new funding for Rapid Re-Housing for Families and expansion of our coordinated entry system Community Connections Network (CCN). This year’s grants are being awarded in the most competitive environment HUD has experienced in the CoC grant program. To compete most effectively, Housing First, Inc. made very challenging decisions, often shifting funds from existing projects to create new ones that will have a more substantial and lasting impact on homeless populations.
We’re grateful to receive this funding so that we can continue to serve our mission of securing resources and assets, which lead to community planning to end homelessness through advocacy and community collaboration.
